As I write, this region moves up a level to tier 4. Unpredictability and modification have engulfed everybody’s life this year. The experience here at Swarm has of course been no different but our agile business model made it easier to adapt and continue to deliver extraordinary experiences.

Back in February, we exhibited the full range of our Folio Mirrors products at Euroshop. These digital devices bring the very best of our software and hardware expertise in a “boxed product” that can be adapted to work across multiple sectors. At this retail exhibition, the most popular versions were Hair-Tutorial, Selfie-Loyalty and Discover-AR.
Folio Fitness however was designed as a digital portal for small gyms in leisure centres and hotels. We hadn’t anticipated a B to C interest stimulated by the pandemic and the press coverage of Lululemon’s investment in their mirror product.
As Euroshop came to a close so did the port gates as the western world began to lockdown. However, our folio mirror range continues to be deployed across three continents. Mainland Europe, Asia and Australia. In the New Year, we will be announcing another update to the range and news of other markets we are delivering to.
As part of our after-sales service, we monitor these devices, managing and reporting interactions. Despite general perceptions, the rate of engagement in open retail stores has been maintained at 62%. Interestingly we have seen a faster uptake of interactivity in the markets further advanced in their pandemic recovery. An encouraging sign for the return to retail and a small insight into the shape of the future retail experience.
